  5. About the Profile Update

  7. The enclosed archive contains a new ModemProfiles file for your FaxSTF™ 5..0 Pro software which should be installed in place of the one currently installed.   Additional modems are included for which support has been added since the software was first released and since the last Profile Update.

  9. Please Note:   Ensure that you are applying the correct ModemProfiles for the version of software that you are using.  Applying the incorrect ModemProfiles could result in unusual and unexpected problems with your fax software.

  41. Installation

  43. Installation is a simple process:
  44.  
  45. 1.  Open the STF folder located inside your System folder.
  46.  
  47. 2.    Open the 5.0 Pro Profile Update folder that was placed on your desktop.  
  48.  
  49. 3.    Drag the new ModemProfiles file from the folder to your Components folder.  You will be warned that another item with the same name already exists:

  51.  Click OK to replace.
  52.     
  53. 4.    Launch the FaxBrowser application either by selecting it under FaxMenu on the Menu bar or by double-clicking on the FaxBrowser icon located in the FAXstf Pro 5.0 folder on your hard drive.

  55. 5.    Select Preferences under the Edit menu.
  56.  
  57. 6.  Under the Preferences panel, click the arrows to pull down the list of preference panels and select the Fax Modem panel.

  59. 7.  Click the Select Modem button and then locate and highlight your modem in the list.

  61. 8.  Click the Select button and then the Save button.

  63. 9.  Restart your computer.
